SF-8-2008 RE: SHELLFISH MANAGEMENT AREAS Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that effective 12:01 A.M., Friday, October 24, 2008, the following will apply to Shellfish Management Areas: I. SHELLFISH MANAGEMENT AREAS Proclamation SF-8-2006, dated October 13, 2006 IS RESCINDED. A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of N.C.G. S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221.1; 143B-289.52 and N.C. Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103, 3K .0103. B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority pursuant to N.C. Marine Fisheries Rule 15A NCAC 3H .0103. C. The shellfish management areas established by SF-8-2006 have been designated as oyster sanctuaries in Marine Fisheries Rule 15A NCAC 3R .0117 and are closed to all shellfish harvest and bottom disturbing fishing gears. D. This proclamation supersedes Proclamation SF-8-2006, dated October 13, 2006.
