trawling, effective at 12:00 Noon, Monday,
July 28, 2003:
Juniper Bay – Cunning Harbor – south of a line beginning on the west shore of
Juniper Bay at a point 35° 20.6217’N –
76° 15.5447’W; running easterly to a point 35° 20.4372’N - 76° 13.2697’W;
running easterly to a point on the east shore of Cunning Harbor to a point 35°
20.3413’N – 76° 12.3378’W. (Map 1)
Swanquarter Bay– south of a line beginning at The Narrows at a point
35° 20.9500’N - 76° 20.6409’W; running easterly to the east shore to a point
35° 21.5959’N – 76° 18.3580’W. (Map 1)
Rose Bay– south of a line beginning on the west shore at a point 35° 23.3404’N
– 76° 26.2491’W; running southeasterly to Drum Point at 35° 22.4891’N – 76°
25.2012’W. (Map 1)
Spencer Bay – south of a line beginning on Roos Point 35° 22.3866’N – 76°
27.9225’W; running northeasterly to Long Point at 35° 23.3404’N – 76°

Jarrett Bay – South of a line beginning at a point on Davis Island at 34°

This proclamation is
issued under the authority of G.S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221 (e);
143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103; 3L .0101 and
.0202.
B.
It is unlawful to
violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director
under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.
C. Nursery areas and prohibited trawl areas described in N.C
Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3R .0103, .0104, .0105 and .0106 remain closed to shrimp trawling.
D.
This action is being taken because
shrimp in the areas listed above have reached harvestable size. This proclamation supersedes
portions of SH-4-2003, dated June 2, and SH-11-2003, dated June 19, 2003
that pertain to these areas.
